I experienced a wonderful feeling of being the cool kids last night.
I was walking up to THE mann chinese theatre and saw a pretty normal crowd of tourists.
there's always people on the street there catering to the tourists... buskers (done that), sham rolex vendors, characters who get tipped to pose for photos (sort of done that).
a largeish crowd surrounds a friend of mine who is dressed, as he always is: scantily as a mostly human warlord.
the cool kids part was partially that I like being associated with scantily clad mostly human warlords, partially that he broke away from the tourists to give me a hug when I walked up, and partially that I happened to be dressed in a bright orange double dare jumpsuit, spam flip-flops, and fuzzy hat. I would have felt more like a fan and less like a friend and probably not had quiet the same cool kids expierence had I been dressed normally.
interestingly, I've notice that if my head is above my monitor, the photo makes his eyes look drunk and droopy and if I look at it straight on, he looks badass mostly human warlord. it's like the opposite of the eyes that follow you
