I hear you can't play black sabbath in hospitals

there's that part of my bio that says "I've never had a cavity. I don't get sick. I'm not allergic to anything. I've never gotten a brain freeze (though I've tried). I don't get headaches. but my shoulder dislocates from time to time." in 3 hours and 15 minutes, I'm getting surgery to correct that chronic dislocating issue.

I'm thrilled I'm doing this. I'm mildly frustrated I didn't do this years ago.

Woo, good for you!

Must be the season for tackling overdue medical issues... I fianlly went to the dentist (after, uh, years) a few weeks ago and am now making appointments for things like wisdom-tooth pulling *shudder*.

Good luck!

- but I am entirely sure that you will not, in any way, actually need it.

I'll come visit with stuff. Enjoy the chair...

I like the hair. It reminds me of the game, Pretty Pretty Princess. Must be all the pink.

Good luck with the surgery, you'll be just fine.

A veteran of three shoulder recons myself, I salute you. My only advice would be:
1. TAKE THE FULL SIX WEEKS OFF that they tell you to not use your arm. Don't try and come back too soon.
2. Once the 6 weeks is up - rehab, rehab, rehab. I hope you like swimming!

Once you have basic movement, lemme know if you need a yoga class or four!

*HUG*

I, while not a veteran of shoulder surgery, feel I need to reinforce this suggestion. The tone of your post seems indicative of an overconfidence in your health that might lead to an interrupted or elongated recovery period.

While it can be frustrating and humbling to stay hobbled, remind yourself that you're awash in friends who love you dearly and are climbing over each other to be of service to you in this time of need.

Best of luck and don't take any guff from those swine.

Good luck. It disturbs me that messages like the one on your shoulder are becomming common (and recommended) practices. You figure that someone operating on you would be able to read your chart.

I wish you a smooth surgery & recovery. To echo techiangel & technomadia, please don't overdo during your recovery.
As for your picture...doesn't seem to matter what you do to your hair, you can't hide the hotness!

hugs

Yay for you! HOw very exciting!

Don't forget we've got an occupational therapist over here to help you get through your rehab period being self-sufficient without overdoing things. BE GOOD with your rehab instructions. Doing it right the first time around is the fastest way to do it. Let us know if you need anything.

I've never had a brain freeze either. I devoured an entire large frosty last night in an attempt to learn what it feels like and ended up with nothing besides a stomach ache.

well, it's all been said...so, uh...extrapolate, interpolate and then make sure you get a good dose of ice cream. because that's somehow really good for you during the healing process...I swear! I read it someplace, I think...love to Dan...take care....I'll try to remember not to launch myself at you for over-zealous hugs anytime in the too-near future.

..regarding the lack of brain freezes...they're genetic. you'll never have one. I am missing that trait too, and i used to fake them when i was little
